Eqyudor is a small country where you can go from the Sierra to the Amazonia and through tne Andes Cordillera and dits volcanoes in a few hours.
We will specifically concentrate on tne south west of the country with VICABAMBA, a village situated at 4000 feets high a few hours from the Peruvian fronteer. VILCAMBAMBA is famous for its micro climate quality of life and the longevity of its inhabitants
VILCABAMBA lays at the feet of the Podocarpus National Park which is well known for its exceptional variety. This 150000 acres reserve is typical of a tropical forest topography (3000 Feet) with panamos strewn with glacial lakes at more than 12000 feet. We will discover podocarpus and quinina which are the only indigenous conifers in Equador
Mamals such as the glasses bear, the woolen tapir, the puma and the poudou (a lind of deer) are more difficult to observe. However, many birds can be spotted as there are more than 2000 varieties of them.
The VICABAMBA an dits region are ideal sites for hiking, pony trek and all sorts of trekking activities
